Vision of the Department

To strive for excellence in imparting knowledge and developing skills in Civil Engineering at the diploma level, empowering students with the tools to succeed in the field of civil engineering, while contributing to the nation’s growth and infrastructure development.

 

Mission of the Department

M1: To utilize advanced technological tools and techniques by highly qualified faculty to enhance understanding of the principles, concepts, and emerging trends in Civil Engineering.

M2: To continuously modernize workshops, laboratories, and facilities to provide hands-on experience and comply with the curriculum prescribed by the State Board of Technical Education, Andhra Pradesh.

M3: To organize laboratory sessions, industrial visits, guest lectures, and training programs that give students real-world exposure and deepen their understanding of core Civil Engineering concepts.

M4: To offer opportunities for students to develop multidisciplinary skills, enhance communication, cultivate a professional attitude, and adhere to ethical practices in their engineering endeavors.

 

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

PEO1: To provide students with a fundamental understanding of mathematics, basic sciences, and interdisciplinary engineering to tackle real-world challenges in civil engineering.

PEO2: To develop knowledge in the principles, techniques, and concepts of civil engineering to address contemporary infrastructure challenges.

PEO3: To encourage the application of civil engineering principles to solve real-life problems through hands-on experience and industry interaction.

PEO4: To foster effective communication skills in planning, designing, construction, and maintenance of civil engineering projects, while collaborating with professionals from the engineering community.

PO1 – Basic and Discipline-Specific Knowledge: Ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering fundamentals to solve civil engineering problems.

PO2 – Problem Analysis: Ability to identify and analyze well-defined civil engineering problems using appropriate methods and techniques to provide meaningful solutions.

PO3 – Design/Development of Solutions: Ability to design solutions for well-defined technical civil engineering problems and assist in the design of systems or components to meet specific needs.

PO4 – Engineering Tools, Experimentation, and Testing: Ability to apply modern civil engineering tools and appropriate techniques to conduct standard tests and measurements.

PO5 – Engineering Practices for Society, Sustainability, and Environment: Ability to apply appropriate engineering practices in the context of societal impact, sustainability, and ethical considerations.

PO6 – Project Management: Ability to apply engineering management principles, both individually and as a team member, to manage civil engineering projects effectively and communicate project goals.

PO7 – Life-long Learning: Ability to engage in lifelong learning to keep up-to-date with evolving technologies and practices in civil engineering.

 

Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

PSO1: Ability to apply civil engineering concepts in diverse areas such as structural engineering, transportation, geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, and construction management.

PSO2: Ability to pursue advanced degrees, certifications, or professional development programs in civil engineering, urban planning, or other related fields.

PSO3: To take up roles of increasing responsibility within organizations and contribute to the design, development, and management of large-scale infrastructure projects.
